Witt/Kieffer is proud to launch a Chief Executive Officer search with Mid Atlantic Retina, which is an internationally recognized, retina practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, which has delivered comprehensive patient care for over 40 years. This physician-owned practice is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of retina, vitreous and macula disorders, with the goal of improving the quality of life for patients. Mid Atlantic’s 20 retina specialists have over 100 years of combined expertise, are world-renowned and recognized as leaders in Vitreoretinal Diseases, with the physicians constituting a large part of the retina faculty at Wills Eye Hospital.
As Mid Atlantic Retina has rapidly expanded to 15 locations across Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware, the physicians are looking to recruit a Chief Executive Officer to position and lead Mid Atlantic’s future growth and long-term sustainability. The new CEO will play a critical role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of this independent group, and has the responsibility for creating and executing the strategic plan.
Reporting to the physician partners, the CEO will have operational and financial responsibility for identifying and ensuring the organization meets its short- and long-term strategic, operational, service, financial and quality performance goals. This executive works closely with the physician partners to articulate the defined mission and vision and to establish strategic direction and operational excellence for the future strength and growth of the practice.
The successful CEO candidate will be a leader that can focus on modern healthcare leadership practices and maximizing revenue growth. Prior leadership experience in an ambulatory surgical environment is important. This CEO must ensure long-term financial and operational stability for Mid Atlantic Retina by developing and achieving budgetary, financial and operational goals. She/he must display effective leadership in cutting costs and creating efficiencies. Evidence of successful negotiating skills, relationship building and collaborative alliances will be necessary. The CEO will align with and educate the partners on new models of reimbursement and provide data analytics and valid pro-formas to calibrate future direction and consensus. The successful candidate will be well-versed in leading and advocating in a time of rapid expansion and transformational change in the delivery and financing of healthcare.
