Bellingham Bay Ophthalmology, PLLC, is seeking a fellowship trained or comprehensive ophthalmologist with strong surgical skills to join our busy, well established (over 50 years in Bellingham) practice in the beautiful Pacific Northwest (just 1.5 hours north of downtown Seattle and 1 hour south of Vancouver, Canada). We are looking for a candidate who is either immediately available or available within a few months to join our practice.
The practice currently has 1 full time MD (owner and cataract surgeon), 1 part time cornea specialist, and 1 part time O.D. A position is immediately available for a full or part time comprehensive or fellowship trained ophthalmologist. Our cornea specialist will be retiring at the end of 2017 and there will be no cornea specialist in the area after she retires. For a fellowship trained cornea MD, this represents a unique opportunity to be the only cornea person in the area.
Our office is equipped with an Ellex yag laser, diode laser, OCT, IOL master, corneal topographer, Humphrey visual field analyzer, minor procedure room, and 5 exam lanes. The full time ophthalmologist currently performs cataract, glaucoma, and oculoplastic surgeries at an offsite, but nearby ASC. We will also be relocating to a new office in Bellingham in about a year with plans for an 8 exam room office.
A flexible work schedule is available. Must be board certified/eligible. Bellingham is a wonderful place to live and raise a family, just north of Seattle, 30 minutes south of the Canadian border. A wide range of outdoor activities with close proximity to the San Juan Islands, Mount Baker, and the Cascade Mountains makes this area ideal for those wanting to experience and live in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
