Pediatric Ophthalmology at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital offers an excellent opportunity for a full-time board certified or board eligible ophthalmologist who is also AAPOS fellowship trained in pediatric ophthalmology. The new partner will enjoy working in a busy practice with a broad referral base. As the pediatric clinical academic partner of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital offers teaching opportunities and academic appointments for qualified candidates. The physicians in the practice are members of The Spectrum Health Medical Group, a growing, physician-led, multispecialty practice. The Pediatric Ophthalmology team currently includes 2 pediatric ophthalmologists, 1 pediatric optometrist, 1 orthoptist, and 6 experienced ophthalmic technicians. The team provides comprehensive pediatric ophthalmic care and treatment for adults with strabismus. The newly expanded pediatric ophthalmology office is conveniently connected to the children’s hospital and the dedicated pediatric operating rooms. With a catchment area of over one million people, the providers see a high volume of outpatients with a variety of routine and complex ophthalmic issues. Our pediatric ophthalmologists also provide consultative services for patients hospitalized at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital as well as inpatient and outpatient retinopathy of prematurity care. The practice has an on-site optical shop for patient and family convenience.
Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital (HDVCH), offers advanced pediatric specialty care with the understanding that children are different.
