We are a well established, well respected Retina practice in Orange County, California with five physicians and four offices. We are searching for a replacement for our retiring Administrator, who will remain available as long as necessary to ensure a smooth transition.
We are looking for a person with strong managerial skills who can inspire loyalty among staff members through positive leadership, who appreciates the value of teamwork, and who excels in problem-solving ability. The new Administrator will work directly with our physicians in long term strategic planning for and marketing of the practice. He or she will be directly responsible for the following:
Preparing periodic financial reports
Overseeing payroll and benefits administration
Maintaining good relationships with vendors, hospitals, IPAs, and health plans
Preparing agendas for corporate meetings and recording the minutes thereof
Making final decisions on staff hiring and terminations
Maintaining appropriate employee records and adhering to the appropriate Labor Code requirements of the Sate of California
In addition, he or she must be able to delegate effectively in order to work with other staff members or departments or outside contractors on matters such as:
Maintenance and periodic revision of Intra-office policies and procedures
Maintenance of our EHR system
Maintenance of and improvement of the physical environment of our offices
Assuring adherence to the regulatory requirements of agencies such as OSHA, HIPAA
Our practice was established in 1985 and founded on the premise that patients and patient care are always of paramount importance. Ours is a caring and supportive environment and our new Administrator must be able to conform to this ideal in all interactions whether with patients, visitors, staff, or vendors. Education, experience, the ability to juggle multiple matters simultaneously, initiative, good judgement, the ability to set and manage priorities, and discretion are among the important attributes we are looking for but a good attitude is the most important attribute of all. (And a sense of humor doesn't hurt either.)
At least a four-year degree; business or health care management is preferred
At least 5 years of experience in management
Good working knowledge of regulatory requirements of the State of California, OSHA, HIPAA, Medicare
Working knowledge of computers including Word, Excel and EHR systems
Ability to communicate clearly orally and in writing
