Dever’s Eye Institute part of Legacy Health is currently recruiting for a BE/BC Ophthalmologist fellowship trained in Pediatric Ophthalmology for a medical and surgical practice in Portland Oregon. This position will report to the Chenoweth Chair for Ophthalmology and will have a close relationship to key providers of Randall Children’s Hospital
Devers is known internationally for treatment and research for diseases of the Retina, Cornea, Glaucoma, and Neuro-Ophthalmology. Devers trains both fellows and residents, and it provides extensive Comprehensive Ophthalmology services, as well as Ocular Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and Contact Lens and Vision Rehabilitation services. The institute is well supported by world renown scientists who seek new knowledge and insights into all aspects of ophthalmic diseases. We are best recognized internationally in four areas:
Glaucoma, especially as that relates to damage and remodeling of the optic nerve
Innovations in corneal transplantation, Uveitis and all aspects of inflammation in and around the eye, The epidemiology of ocular diseases, especially glaucoma
We participate actively in clinical trials including ones related to retinal disease, glaucoma, and corneal disease.
For decades Randall Children’s Hospital has been a regional leader in providing excellent care to infants, children and teens in Portland and the Pacific Northwest and is one of Oregon’s largest providers of high acuity pediatric inpatient and trauma services. Randall Children’s Hospital medical staff is made up of more than 600 physicians, including pediatric medical and surgical specialists, hospitalists and community pediatricians. Randall Children’s Hospital receives nearly 100,000 patient visits per year. The Children’s Emergency Department is Oregon’s busiest, with more than 25,000 visits annually. Randall Children’s Hospital is a teaching facility for medical students and residents. Pediatric Critical Care coverage is provided by 24/7 in- house Pediatric Intensivists in the ICU.
