The Department of Surgery, Ophthalmology Service, at VA Boston Health Care System (VABHS) is soliciting applications for the position of Ophthalmologist - Ocular Oncologist, Vitreoretinal Specialist, Cataract Surgeon (Part Time).
VABHS is the major tertiary referral center for veterans from throughout New England and is strongly affiliated with Harvard Medical School (HMS) and Boston University (BU). Candidates should have an outstanding academic record and the ability to lead clinical, research and training programs. Proficiency in Ocular Oncologist, Vitreoretinal Specialist, Cataract Surgery is expected (mandatory).
Appointment as an Asst. or Assoc. Professor at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and achievements, in addition to teaching activities. Suitable candidates must have an M.D. or an MD-PhD or equivalent degree from an accredited institution. Candidates must have completed an American Board of Ophthalmology approved residency training, or equivalent, with emphasis in Ocular Oncologist, Vitreoretinal Specialist, Cataract Surgeon. Candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. Compensation will be competitive with the major academic centers in the region.
Tour of Duty: This is a part time position, 10 hours per week, Wednesday only, and will be at the VA, Jamaica Plain, MA. The staff tour of duty will be determined by the Chief of Ophthalmology and will support the clinical and surgical needs of the patient population served.
