Ophthalmologist Full Time/ Part Time:New York: Westchester County
February 21, 2018
Yonkers, New York
165.00 - 210.00
Full Time - Experienced
I have been practicing general ophthalmology in my current location for 30 years and still enjoy serving my city/suburban community in Westchester County, NY without the confines of a large multi-specialty “managed” group or hospital run practice. I am seeking a well trained associate to join my busy practice. Most of the Ophthalmologists in my community are still functioning in the solo or small group practice model and I believe that we will be able to continue to prosper and grow despite the recent trends in healthcare.
My office has the capacity for 5 lanes, and is currently working with 4. We have a Heidelberg Spectralis OCT with the ability to do both optic nerve and retinal examinations. In addition, I have a Humphrey VF, immersion A scan, Nidek Topographer, Zeiss Argon and Yag Laser, Kowa Fundus Photographer and, of course, an Autorefractor, Autolensometer and Pneumotonometer.
I also have an in-house optical shop for the convenience of my patients. I am fully EHR for over 6 years with a stable company that has met all the governmental requirements. As Chairman of the Dept. of Ophthalmology at St. John’s Riverside Hospital, a Voluntary Attending at Montefiore Medical Center’s Dept. of Ophthalmology and a shareholder and surgeon at a thriving local ASU, there are many surgical opportunities as well. My ASU also has a Yag, an SLT, a full Lasik suite, an Alcon Femtolaser and ORA and a terrific staff. They offer a wide variety of IOL selections as well as various MIGS.
I am performing 250-300 cataracts per year and typically see between 120-140 patients per week in 3 1/2 -4 days. I currently have a FT optometrist and 2 ophthalmic technicians. There is a large glaucoma and retina population and I have continued to do in-house angiograms and perform retinal focal, prp and peripheral retinal tear lasers. Since it is a diverse population there is also a significant amount of cornea and oculoplastics in the mix.
I would appreciate the opportunity to speak and meet with any candidate that might be interested in moving to or staying in NY. and would consider this opportunity. I am a 15 minute drive to the upper west side of manhattan. At this time I am considering both FT and PT candidates.
