Chief of Ophthalmology – San Francisco VAMC UCSF Department of Ophthalmology
The San Francisco Veterans Administration Medical Center and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) are seeking applicants to fill a faculty position as a Chief, Ophthalmologist for our Ophthalmology Service at the SFVAMC.
This individual will be responsible for administration of the ophthalmology and optometric services at the VAMC, resident and fellow supervision, patient care and surgery. This individual will direct the division's vision research program, and is expected to develop or advance an independent, grant funded research program.
This individual will also be appointed to the UCSF Ophthalmology Faculty, and to the department's executive leadership group.
REQUIREMENTS: Qualified candidates must hold an MD or equivalent degree and have a CA license or be eligible for full, unrestricted licensure. Candidates must be board certified (ABO) or board eligible. Candidates must have a distinguished record of excellence in clinical care, teaching, and research, and it is expected that successful programs will be advanced in all three areas.
