Leader Heights Eye Center is seeking a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant to help us provide patients with excellent care. You will assist during patient exams, performing tests and assisting with patient education.
Take patient history, past medical history, allergies, social history, and medication list
Take near/distance visual acuity
Perform Goldman applanation
Scribe for doctor
Give patients eye drops
Perform contact lens inserts and removals
Perform surgery pre-operative and post-operative care
Accurately enter patient information in electronic health records
Record phone messages, prescriptions, etc. in the electronic health records
Escribe prescriptions to pharmacies
Schedule surgical procedures and specialist referrals
Precertification of tests and surgical procedures
Follow up on lab results
Maintain inventory of patient education materials and create more as needed.
Cleaning and sterilizing supplies, rooms, and equipment
Checking supplies for expiration dates and disposing of properly
Perform visual field tests, corneal topography, IOL master, OCTs, pachymetry, OSM and fundus photography, but not interpreting results
The ideal candidates will have:
Previous ophthalmology experience preferred
Be available Mondays and Thursdays until 7 pm (no weekend hours)
