The Department of Ophthalmology at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff and student body. The Department of Ophthalmology, Shiley Eye Institute, UCSD Vision Research and Rady Children's Hospital are expanding. The Department is recruiting for a physician specializing in Pediatric Ophthalmology. The position will be an academic appointment with clinical, educational and research responsibilities. Clinically, the candidate will contribute to a robust pediatric ophthalmology practice serving the children of San Diego at both Rady Children's Hospital via the Rady Children's Health Network and the UC San Diego Ratner Children's Eye Center. The amalgamation of Rady and UCSD resources into one program represents an exciting and unique opportunity. Candidates must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. and fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology. Candidates must be board eligible or board certified in Ophthalmology and have, or be eligible for a California medical license. Candidates must have strong clinical skills, outstanding productivity and interest in research. The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
