Moore Eye Institute and the Department of Ophthalmology at Drexel University College of Medicine are expanding their retina service and hiring a retina surgeon who is a personable, caring team player. At the same time, you will be teaching the next generation of ophthalmologists. Moore Eye Institute and Drexel are independent of each other but are overlapping organizations that are working closely to recruit a retina surgeon.
Drexel University College of Medicine prides itself in educating and teaching residents with a focus on expanding its’ research offering. Having prior research exposure or an interest in research is not mandated, but helpful. We will consider individuals who are currently in private practice or a residency setting.
Moore Eye Institute’s physicians have the opportunity to participate with Drexel in addition to three other private practice locations in the Philadelphia region. Moore is a multi-specialty practice, having strong affiliations with multiple health systems including Springfield Hospital of Crozer-Keystone Health System, Abington Hospital of Jefferson Health System, and our most recent appointment ? Moore Eye Institute at Drexel University College of Medicine. We also partner with Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine to host an ophthalmology residency program at Moore. This enables the candidate to work in a private practice and earn a high income while also teaching ophthalmology residents.
Our multiple locations, strong relationships with health systems, osteopathic medicine, optometrists, and area ophthalmologists who send us tertiary care have created a strong referral network with extensive pathology and significant surgeries. If the retina surgeon desires to maintain their cataract surgical abilities in some locations, this is permissible.
Moore Eye Institute is known as a leader in offering the most advanced equipment in our clinical setting and state of the art operating rooms. We have always been on the forefront of diagnostic equipment and in Pennsylvania, were one of the first to offer MicroPulse Laser, PDT, OCT, ICG, and other technologies. This unique position is one of the finest you will find on the east coast.
