About Visalia Eye Center
Visalia is a rapidly growing Central California city situated in the heart of California’s agricultural San Joaquin Valley, approximately 230 miles southeast of San Francisco and 190 miles north of Los Angeles. As the county seat and largest city of Tulare County, Visalia serves as the economic center to the region known as the most productive single agricultural area in the United States. Today, far from being all-Agriculture, Tulare County is a diverse community offering a range of opportunities, including a community theater, and an active downtown dining and shopping scene. Visalia's downtown district is home to numerous shops, restaurants, breweries and live entertainment. There is a minor league baseball park which is home of the Visalia Rawhide. The historic Fox Theatre is located downtown and is a venue for many performing arts and musical events. The convention center features a variety of events including home and garden shows, seminars and concerts.
There are also plenty of opportunities to "get back to nature," thanks to the close proximity of Kaweah Oaks Preserve and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, which are within easy reach of downtown Visalia. Lake Kaweah ...is close, where fishing and water sports can be enjoyed. Sequoia, in particular, is noteworthy for its dramatic landscape, which includes Mount Whitney, whose 14,497-foot summit makes it the highest peak in the contiguous United States. Visalia is referred to as the "Gateway to the Sequoias" because it’s the closest major city to Sequoia National Park, home to the largest and oldest living trees on Earth, the Giant Sequoias. Also, the central pacific coast is only 2 1/2 hours away, one of the many places to see there is the world famous Monterey Bay Aquarium.
