The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health is actively recruiting a board-certified/eligible Uveitis Comprehensive Ophthalmologist to join our team.
The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences is seeking an academically-oriented Uveitis Comprehensive ophthalmologist. This is an open-rank, 75% - 100% FTE position on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS). Principle duties include care of ophthalmology patients with portion of practice focused on the diagnosis and treatment of uveitic eye diseases and portion of practice providing clinical comprehensive ophthalmology care.
This position comprises clinical activity at the UW Hospital and Clinics, the Middleton Veterans Administration Hospital, and other UW Health and outreach sites. The hired ophthalmologist will teach and mentor residents, fellows and medical students. Candidates must have an MD degree and be board-certified (or board-eligible if within five years of residency completion) in ophthalmology. Completion of a clinical fellowship in Uveitis is required.
Clinical Health Sciences Track (PVL 95164)
Qualified candidates will be considered at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. In addition to the above-mentioned clinical and teaching activities, CHS track responsibilities will also include developing a clinical and/or laboratory research program. Clinical or basic science research will be supported with start-up funds. Candidates for the Associate Professor or Professor rank must meet criteria for appointment at rank per the UW School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for appointment and promotion on the CHS track. Base salary compensation is through the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additional compensation is from the University of Wisconsin Medical Foundation, the clinical arm of the University of Wisconsin Health system. The anticipated start date is January 1, 2019.
