Tired of looking for a retina practice in an oversaturated market with old equipment and poor sub-Medicare reimbursements? If so, please consider this opportunity to join a well established, highly respected, single-specialty, independent retina practice with 30 years in the region with a substantial patient base. This regional referral retina practice has an immediate opening for a 2-year medical/surgical fellowship trained BC/BE retina specialist in 2018 or 2019 to continue to grow the excellent partnerships and relationships with our regional retina referral network. A current Retina associate is retiring in late 2018 from this 3 physician group. The new retina physician will have a busy clinic and operating room schedule with minimal lag-time to build-up a retina practice. This opportunity includes a state of the art 10,000+ sq. ft. main clinic facility. We work with the latest ophthalmology diagnostic equipment including Optos, Heidelberg HRT/Spectralis, Topcon camera/Sonomed Fluorescein angiography, Ellex Digital Ultrasound, Zeiss Visual Field, Automated digital color vision testing system, PASCAL 577 laser with indirect attachment, Iridex 810 laser (ROP), and a treatment suite with Iridex Indirect Laser , cryopexy, and pneumatic gas capabilities. The AXIS Image Management PACS System incorporates an enhanced computer display in each exam and treatment room with the latest patient images from diagnostic equipment for physician and patient review. Our EMR is the cloud-based Nextech MDI system. A clinic COA utilizes a portable IPAD in real-time during each exam. The data from each patient visit is automatically integrated into our Advanced MD practice management system, and the AAO IRIS program to assist each physician with MIPS requirements. In addition to the main retina clinic, the practice leases a 2500+ sq. ft. satellite office one hour away from the main clinic that is fully equipped with state of the art exam equipment. The main medical office building houses a multi-specialty independent-owned, non-hospital ASC (ophthalmology, orthopedics, ENT, Pain Management Anesthesia) that has developed a 23-hour stay area. Each retina surgical case is staffed with a clinic COA who has had surgical tech experience prior to joining the retina team and facilitates the complexities of small-gauge vitrectomy surgery. The patient referral base in the region is one million people. The community has a population of 200,000+ with a Division 1 research university and NCAA championship athletic teams. The crime statistics are low with rock-bottom unemployment levels and a reasonable cost of living. Great outdoor recreational activities in addition to strong, established youth athletic and academic programs are available including baseball, football, hockey, basketball, tennis, and STEM research/competition. This, combined with minimal commutes makes the practice ideal for someone who appreciates building a long-term professional practice and becoming established quickly in our retina referral network. The regional airport services nonstop flights to Minneapolis, Chicago, Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, Atlanta, and Tampa. The state is financially stable with a large “rainy day” fund supported by oil well drilling funds, a low personal income tax, and one of the highest Medicaid/Medicare ratios to assure higher reimbursement rates compared with other states. The salary structure for the position is competitive with a salary + bonus incentive plan. A partnership track opportunity is available, with the ability to purchase ownership stock in the retina practice and the ASC in future years.
