Busy six doctor Atlanta practice is looking for a third glaucoma specialist
Atlanta Ophthalmology Associates (AOA) is a fast-growing practice in the heart of the North Atlanta medical community. The practice is a highly respected, comprehensive, multi-specialty group with 2 corneal/refractive specialists, two glaucoma specialists (including Reay Brown, MD), a medical ophthalmologist and an optometrist.
The group does a large volume of cataract surgery in addition to LASIK, cornea, and glaucoma procedures. It is a Cataract Center of Excellence utilizing the femto-second laser in more than 50% of cataract surgeries. A large volume of toric and multifocal IOLs are chosen by its patients.
AOA is seeking a fellowship-trained glaucoma specialist who is enthusiastic about trabs and tubes as well as MIGS. The associate will be busy right away. After a period of employment, the associate can expect to see the value of partnership.
The practice is housed in a large single office (10,000 sq. ft.) built 6 years ago. The doctors enjoy the use of multiple lasers and the latest imaging and photographic technology. Highly trained staff as physician extenders enhance its operations.
Drs. Reay Brown and David Palay were professors at Emory before founding the practice 19 years ago. Although the doctors all have a strong subspecialty focus, they are also a full-service practice with contact lens dispensing and a busy optical with three outstanding opticians.
Starting with Dr. Brown and continuing with growth, the practice has a long history of involvement in glaucoma surgery research, especially MIGS. Our new associate will have the opportunity to do MIGS studies if interested.
Atlanta is hugely underserved in glaucoma and it is difficult for referring doctors to get their patients seen in a timely manner. An energetic person taking this position will immediately find him or herself a very important person in the ophthalmic community.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone wanting to combine challenging glaucoma with cataract surgery as a member of the best ophthalmology practice in Atlanta.
Please contact Reay Brown, MD or AOA’s practice manager (Brenda Lorenzo) by email or phone if you are interested.
