Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Associates, Rhode Island's largest subspecialty practice, is seeking a third BC/BE fellowship trained pediatric ophthalmologist/strabismus surgeon to join on a temporary or permanent basis. Part-time or full-time.
We have two offices approximately 15 miles apart, serving patients in Rhode Island, Southeastern Massachusetts, and Eastern Connecticut. Both offices are fully equipped for subspecialty practice in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus.
We currently see around 10,000 patients per year, carry out 300+ surgical cases covering pediatric cataracts, ROP treatment, pediatric oculoplastics, in addition to adult and pediatric strabismus surgery. 80% of our surgery is done in a subspecialty surgicenter of which we are part-owners. The remainder is done at Hasbro Children's Hospital and Women and Infants Hospital.
There is an ophthalmology residency based at Rhode Island Hospital, and successful candidates would have an opportunity to join the clinical faculty at Brown Medical School, if desired.
Rhode Island is a beautiful, coastal state with excellent public and private schools, universities and cultural institutions. Boston is less than an hour away, and New York City is a three hour drive.
Fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus and ABO certification or eligibility.
