MICHIGAN - There are still great opportunities where an ophthalmologist can be a partner and have a great family life too. This is one of those opportunities. Re-Think Michigan!
COMPREHESIVE Ophthalmologist (Glaucoma sub-specialty a Plus) Wanted for Partnership with Michigan Ophthalmology Group Practice.
Position / Practice We are a respected, very busy Michigan ophthalmology practice looking for a personable, skilled ophthalmologist to meet our current and future patient demands. We are a 2 MD, 2 OD group practice that sees over 10,000 patients annually and performs 800-1000 surgical procedures each year. The vast majority of these surgeries are: cataracts, blephs, ptosis, and a modest amount of glaucoma work. The need is legitimate and growing. This is a fantastic opportunity for the prospective associate as he or she will inherit a turn-key practice opportunity in a trusted 20+ year old organization.
We employ 18 patient-centered staff members who add love and levity to the office environment as we provided the best eye care possible. Five of these members are well-trained techs who are also trained as scribes. Personnel turnover is very low and the happiness quotient is high providing a family-like camaraderie in the office. The doctors, like staff, genuinely care about patients and have been recognized locally and nationally for their eye care relief efforts in the community and overseas.
The incoming ophthalmologist will be busy immediately with a daily patient encounter volume of 25-30+ and a surgical volume of approximately 300 – 400+ procedures in the first year. Our office is an attractive brick building in a high visibility area. Surgeries are performed at the local hospital, which is conveniently located across the street from our office, and the hospital staff is experienced, well-trained and great to work with.
The Area The entire draw area for our practice is comprised of 5 counties and includes a total population of 80K+. We are the only ophthalmology practice in a 50 mile radius, which translates to a stable, thriving practice and substantiates the recruitment need. We are located in a public university town with a student population of 14,000. The university is a huge contributor to the community and provides great education and entertainment. It has a very reputable college of pharmacy and optometry, and an NCAA Division 1 hockey team and a national championship basketball team.
The area gives your family a lot to see and do. You’ll love the region for its blend of the arts, outdoor recreational activities, and true 4 seasons environment. An annual world-renowned art fair, top entertainment performers and concerts, plays and symphonies are an hour away. The river running through town and the national forest a few miles away provide plenty of camping, hiking, kayaking, tubing, fishing, and hunting opportunities. This is a fantastic place to get out and get active! You can also take advantage of the biking, jogging, and hiking trails, resorts and golf courses. Your children will love the fact that you are a short drive from the largest amusement park in Michigan!
Excellent compensation, great perks and incentives and a wonderful benefits plan will be offered. An accelerated partnership option will be offered to a candidate with a similar desire to treat patients compassionately with excellence.
Your career is important and so is your family. If your desire is to work in a small, collegial practice in an area with an outstanding quality of life for your entire family, please connect with our recruiter to learn more at firstname.lastname@example.org
