Currently a solo physician’s office, with a patient base exceeding 18,000 this busy practice is booking surgeries 90 days out.
The owner physician is planning to retire within five years and is seeking a board certified (or board eligible) ophthalmologist to buy in the practice. The owner physician will remain for no less than one year to ensure a smooth transition. Financing is available if needed.
The physician performs major surgery (such as Cataract, Ptosis) in Mclaren Northern Michigan Hospital once a week. Minor procedures (such as laser and minor lid surgery) are performed in the office.
The office is in a beautiful free standing building and includes: * 3 exam rooms equipped with Haag-Streit slit lamps (possible to add the 4th) * 1 procedure room for laser and minor procedures * 2 testing rooms for visual field, OCT, fundus photography, Lenstar biometry tests
The practice treats and manages patients for most eye conditions and refers out patients to sub specialists near-by for complicated glaucoma and retinal problems.
The staff is comprised of 5 full time staff: 2 medical assistants and 3 administrative personnel.

The ideal candidate will be board certified or board eligible in Ophthalmology with a desire to own a thriving solo practice. A desire to work with hospital leaders to support the needs of local trauma patients is desired.
Located in Michigan's vacationland of northern Michigan, the candidate's enjoyment of waterfront and an outdoor lifestyle is a plus.
