Well established retina practice, combined with neuro- and plastics, on the Gulf Coast of Central Florida, is seeking a second board certified/eligible fellowship trained vitreo-retinal ophthalmologist.
The practice has been well established since 1981 and continues to participate in a number of national clinical trials with the DRCR and drug companies. We have also participated in and continue to participate in the IMT trial, and are currently only one of 12 practices in the United States performing the pseudophakic exchange implant trial. Besides the main office, there are 3 satellite offices, covering 2 additional counties. All offices are well equipped and use a widely accepted EMR system. Staff is well established and proficient, and each physician has available a scribe.
Salaries are competitive with excellent benefits, incentive bonuses and a retirement plan. Partnership and buy in are also available. Call will be once every 3-4 weeks, for a week at a time within the practice, and much less often at the hospital.
The practice annually sponsors a well-attended national vitreo-retinal course, which attracts ophthalmologist throughout the United States. This course has been held for the past 32 years, and has brought in speakers who are known both nationally and internationally.
The Gulf Coast of Central Florida is a growing area that attracts retirees and snowbirds. It is famous for its world class beaches and has a facility for crew and triathlon competitions. Professional football, baseball and ice hockey games can be seen locally, as well as major league spring and minor league training for professional baseball. Culturally there is the symphony, musical, plays and museum. Educationally the schools are excellent with a number of charter schools, one of which ranks nationally. Youth sports include soccer, golf, tennis, ice hockey, baseball, softball and football. Golf, tennis, boating and fishing are year around activities.
