Talley Eye Institute is a busy, well-respected practice in need of a glaucoma trained physician who can also perform a high volume of cataract surgery. Current staffing includes 2 retina surgeons, 1 cornea specialist, 2 general ophthalmologists, and 2 residency trained optometrists. The new glaucoma specialist will initially see 20+ patients per day with a mix of medical and surgical glaucoma patients, as well as cataract evaluations, and will be expected to travel to a satellite clinic one day per week. Our brand new 23,000 square foot clinic provides great patient flow with each doctor pod utilizing 5 lanes, a robust EHR, an Optos camera, multiple Zeiss Cirrus OCTs, 2 Humphrey visual fields, Visante OCT, an IOL Master 700, and use of an argon laser. Cataract and glaucoma surgery will be performed in our highly efficient ASC with an expected first year volume of 600 or more cataract surgeries. Additionally, at our ASC, a YAG/SLT Ellex Tango laser is available to use and the placement of premium IOLs and MIGS surgery is currently being performed. There is huge potential for practice growth during the first few years. This practice growth, coupled with a low overhead, will allow for the possibility of a very large income within a few years of starting your practice.
This is a partnership track position, with a reasonable and affordable buy-in after 18 months. Partnership will be available for both the practice and our ASC following the initial 18 months of employment. Employment status includes a generous base salary, a signing bonus and/or stipend, and a production bonus that equates to an anticipated net income of over $400,000 the first year. All standard benefits are included, plus 401k participation. We are a very busy referral based practice that demands quality and ethical surgical care combined with the ability to be very personable and work closely with our referral network and our own medical staff.
The practice is located in Evansville, Indiana, in the southwest corner of Indiana. The population of Evansville and surrounding metropolitan area is 360,000 and there is a draw area of around 800,000 to 1,000,000. Evansville is located within a 2-3 hour drive of Louisville, Nashville, St. Louis, and Indianapolis. A low cost of living, excellent schools, very affordable housing, and all of the amenities of Evansville make this area an attractive place to live and raise a family. Evansville has been voted best city to “live, work, and play” by readers of Kiplinger’s magazine. Additionally, Evansville is blessed with a strong medical community and a generous payor mix. Finally, the state of Indiana has Tort reform, thus, medical malpractice rates are very low. Evansville, Indiana, is truly a wonderful place to both live and practice quality medicine.
