The Flaum Eye Institute (FEI) of the University Of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry has immediate availability for a Cornea/External Disease Specialist, at the Assistant Professor to Full Professor level commensurate with experience. Ophthalmologists with sub-specialty training are encouraged to apply. Salary is guaranteed for 3 years and includes generous benefits based upon professional experience and academic productivity.
FEI is one of the fastest growing Departments of Ophthalmology in the country, with 40 full-time faculty. The departing faculty member has a well-established, busy practice. Our basic scientists study neurodegenerative diseases and are collaborate extensively with our clinical faculty. There is a full-time clinical trials division as well as a photographic reading center for multicenter trials. Interdepartmental collaborations are facilitated through the highly respected Center for Visual Science.

Applicants must have graduated from a fully accredited ophthalmology residency and be eligible for licensure in the state of New York. Candidates must be certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Ophthalmology. Applicants must have demonstrated a commitment to achieving diversity in the workforce. Rank and salary will be commensurate with experience and credentials. The successful candidate(s) will have excellent medical and surgical skills in cornea and a commitment to resident and fellow training. Experience in clinical or basic science research is highly desirable.
