Training occurs in a private practice setting with exposure to a broad range of medical and surgical diseases of the retina and vitreous. Year one concentrates on fundamentals of VR surgery and year two expands skills transfer to include advanced VR techniques. Surgeries are conducted in hospital and outpatient surgery center settings.
Office-based mentoring by our Retina specialists will occur on non-surgical days. Medical laser treatments include PRP, focal, choroidal ablation, micropulse and PDT. Intravitreal injection medications include Avastin, Lucentis, Eylea, Ozurdex, and Iluvian.
Our Fellow is employed at PGY-5 and PGY-6 by the hospital and enjoys all standard benefits, including health insurance and book and travel stipends. The Fellow will attend the AAO Retina Subspecialty Day, the Fellow's Forum conference in Chicago as well as the Advanced VR Technique course at Duke.
Consider joining us for this training opportunity that will prepare you for a successful career as a Retina Specialist.
