About Consulting Ophthalmologists
Consulting Ophthalmologists, P.C. (COPC) was founded in 1977. Over the past 40 plus years, we have grown from three to eleven doctors, offering comprehensive eye care in general ophthalmology and in all subspecialty areas. The physicians of COPC have always been proud to be affiliated with Hartford Hospital and have maintained an association with the University of Connecticut Health Center and Yale School of Medicine.
In addition to providing general, comprehensive eye care, our specialty trained physicians offer treatment options for advanced cataracts, glaucoma, cornea and external eye diseases, retinal conditions, tearing issues and dry eye. Our oculoplastic surgeon treats abnormalities of the eyelids, lacrimal system, orbits, and surrounding tissues. We also offer refractive laser surgery (Lasek) for our patients who choose to minimize their dependence on contact lenses and glasses. Our optical shops, located in each of our offices, are staffed with licensed opticians who are specially trained to determine the best lenses for your visual needs. Our contact lens department offers both routine fittings as well as specialty fittings for medically necessary contact lenses and mu...ltifocal lenses for our patients who have irregular corneas, corneal trauma, and other corneal conditions.
