We seek a full-time, board-eligible/certified ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in pediatric ophthalmology and pediatric medical retina and electrophysiology to join the Boston Children’s Hospital’s Ophthalmology Department as Director of Pediatric Medical Retina, with a faculty appointment at Harvard Medical School at the Instructor/Assistant Professor level. Our faculty practice includes a team of 22 pediatric ophthalmologists, 3 subspecialty faculty affiliates (based at Mass Eye & Ear), and 8 optometrists serving patients in 11 locations throughout Eastern Massachusetts, including Boston Children’s Hospital and Mass Eye & Ear sites. We also have an unparalleled basic/translational research enterprise, with 5 full-time and 4 closely affiliated vision science researchers collaborating with our clinicians.
We continue to expand in our mission of providing our patients with ready access to the highest quality pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus care. This position will focus on the care of pediatric patients with hereditary retinal diseases, including evaluation, retinal electrophysiology, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across the institution. Our work extends across the full spectrum of clinical care, teaching, vision science, and advocacy. We pride ourselves on having a knowledgeable, accessible staff focused on care, research, and teaching and are looking to add a motivated, well-trained individual who shares in that vision.
