WHAT IS ACE?
ACE is comprised of ACE Eyecare Inc, a professional medical ophthalmology and optometry practice, and Advanced Center for Eyecare, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides funding to uninsured individuals in need of vision care.
ACE’s mission is to make high-quality eye care accessible and affordable for Kern County’s large underserved and uninsured population.
ACE’s three ophthalmologists and four optometrists work hand-in-hand to provide the full spectrum of ophthalmic and optometric services and associated follow-up care.
ACE has multiple locations: One “mothership” clinic that serves the general public with both ophthalmic and optometric care, a second clinic that provides additional public access to eye care, a shared off-site ambulatory surgery center, and five school-based vision centers that provide elementary and middle school students with eye exams and glasses.
WHO DOES ACE SERVE?
ACE primarily serves the approximately 42% of Kern County’s population who otherwise would not have affordable access to quality eye care services.
While ACE doctors see patients of all ages and socioeconomic backgrounds, the majority of our patients have Medi-Cal or Medicare insurance plans. ACE Eyecare is also accredited to accept many PPO health insurances and vision insurance plans.
For those with no insurance, Advanced Center for Eyecare works to provide funding for needed vision care by soliciting donations and developing local and national partnerships.

About ACE Eyecare
Alarming statistics show that approximately 42% of Kern County’s population, or roughly 2 in 5 people, do not have affordable access to quality eye care services. ACE Eyecare is a not-for-profit ophthalmology and optometry practice whose mission is to make this much-needed eye care affordable and accessible to the underserved children, adults, and seniors in our community. This is achieved by accepting most public health and vision insurances (e.g. Medicaid), as well as providing services at a minimal cost to low-income patients who don't have insurance. At ACE, we're energetic and passionate about what we do. Because of our continued expansion, we seek qualified candidates who share our vision, values, and commitment to enhancing our community by helping those in need.
