We are recruiting a full-time BC/BE glaucoma specialist to join our busy practice of 4 ophthalmologists and 2 optometrists. While we prefer a glaucoma specialist, we would also consider the right comprehensive ophthalmologist for this position. (*We also need a medical ophthalmologist or optometrist - see below*). There is an immediate need with an already-established patient base resulting from the recent departure of a glaucoma specialist. You will be busy right away. However, seeing some comprehensive ophthalmology patients would likely be necessary, at least at first. This position is ideally suited for someone looking to become a partner, although it is not a must. This position would mostly be based out of our Brevard office. Our practice was established 35 years ago and boasts a large patient base, rapidly growing population, and a thriving practice with a stellar reputation. We support a good work-life balance and encourage pursuits outside of work, such as volunteering, local or international missions opportunities, and time with family and friends.
*We also need a medical ophthalmolgist or optometrist, primarily at our Hendersonville office. This position is flexible in terms of time - it could be full-time or part-time and you could essentially be as busy as you want to be.
Our practice is congenial with a collegial atmosphere. Our two offices are located in beautiful Brevard and Hendersonville, NC, and provide a full range of medical and surgical services using the latest technology. There is currently an off-site ASC affiliated with a local hospital that should be completed within the next year. Each office is fully equipped and staffed 5 days a week. A full service optical is located in each office. We have over 50 full-time staff - many of whom have been with the practice for 5-10+ years, many others much longer. Low turnover and good staff benefits, such as a 401K plan, support a friendly and motivated office environment.
The Asheville / Brevard / Hendersonville area is a beautiful place to live, especially for a family. Four distinct seasons; numerous outdoor activities; access to state parks, lakes, rivers, and mountains; excellent public and private schools and hundreds of church/worship opportunities all make this area attractive. Low crime, little traffic, a thriving music, arts and crafts scene, festivals and innovative restaurants add to the quality of life. People travel from all over the country to visit the place that we are fortunate to call home.
The Asheville airport or an easy drive to Charlotte, NC, or Greenville, SC, make for accessible flights to any destination. Our demographics include a growing senior population (area is consistently ranked a top location for retirees) and increasing economic growth along the Interstate 26 corridor south of Asheville.
Housing options are abundant and range from planned suburban neighborhoods to urban lofts to rural homes. An associate could live in either Brevard, Hendersonville or Asheville and enjoy an easy commute.
Our practice is patient-focused. Strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to high ethical and moral standards, and excellence in diagnosis, management, and surgical ability are expected. Call is taken weekly between the ophthalmologists, but is very light with little trauma and very few consults. The position is a partnership track with a fair and reasonable process. Buy-in would include ownership in the practice, optical, and if desired, real estate. Further details regarding partnership can be discussed with appropriate candidates.
