Long Standing, Successful Ophthalmology/Optometry Practice seeking a forward-thinking Administrator to take us to the next level.
This is a one location only practice that has been serving the community for over 45 years. Currently, there are 9 providers filling our needs with plans for continued growth. The person in this position will be responsible to work with staff as well as the managing partners regarding all aspects of the practice, including the day to day operations and all financial/accounting responsibilities.
Responsibilities will include the following.
Manage and direct the business operations and functions of the practice to include overhead management, corporate insurances, benefit plans, billing and collections, data processing, business development, retirement accounts, and payroll.
Must have knowledge of quick books for reviewing and paying bills.
Supervision of the day-to-day operation and ensure patient satisfaction and a healthy, productive atmosphere for staff while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Manage human resources as well as hiring and firing and completing regular staff reviews as well as motivating supervisors and staff. Must be a proven leader of a team concept.
Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to sometime have difficult discussions with staff.
Maintain exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
Managing compliance in all areas, including billing, OSHA, employment law & HIPAA.
Manage and monitor all financial management reporting and benchmarking. Knowledge of Excel is necessary.
Must have the ability and desire to develop and implement practice growth strategies.
Maintain and monitor daily and monthly closing accountability and bank deposits.
Must be familiar with current coding and insurance policies and keep up with changes.
Must understand billing and collections policies and can closely follow the A/R for maximum efficiency to maintain a successful revenue cycle.
Must maintain a broad knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology.
Must be familiar with MIPS.
Develop marketing plans for success.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures along with department supervisors with regular meetings.
Develop plans and schedules for maximum efficiency with our clinical flow as well as with staff schedules.
Maintain knowledge of our computer system, both in Practice management and EHR.
Work with the partners in recruiting new physicians as needed to contribute to practice growth.
Create and maintain an open environment for good employee morale.
Must have the ability to problem solve using critical thinking.
Develop and maintain emergency disaster protocols.
Maintain training and education for staff as well as yourself. Administrator must be involved in outside organizations such as AAOE, ASOA or other professional associations.
Must have the ability to work closely with the managing partners by maintaining open communication on issues, plus planning regular meetings with them.
Must have the ability to develop strategic planning opportunities for constant improvement and be able to present this to the partners.
Maintain quality assurance clinically, technically and financially.
Consistently look for innovative ways to improve patient experience.
BA or MBA in business or health care management OR a minimum of five years proven experience in healthcare management, preferable in Ophthalmology.
Strong leadership, communication, problem solving and decision-making abilities.
Well organized with the ability to multi-task.
Additional Salary Information: Depends on previous ophthalmic experience.
