Full-time ophthalmology position available at the Martinez VA Outpatient Hospital (Contra Costa County, Northern California). Outstanding anterior segment surgical skills required and glaucoma fellowship training a plus. The facility has state of the art ASU operating rooms within the same building as the Eye Clinic. The facility is a modern full service outpatient hospital, with urgent care only (no emergency room). The position provides outstanding surgical volume as an attending and as a resident supervisor. Responsibilities include: clinical care, UC Davis Medical Center resident supervision and training in both the outpatient and operating room settings. Limited rotation through the Oakland VA Outpatient Clinic with this position. There is dedicated technician support, eye nurse support, on-site YAG, Argon and SLT lasers, IOL Master Biometry, Visual Field testing, fundus imaging, optometry, and an on-site optical shop. Other on specialists in the practice includes comprehensive/cataract and limited medical retina/vitreous. It is a friendly, rewarding environment, with appreciative patients and cohesive Eye Team.
Candidate must be: 1) US Citizen, 2) Board Prepared/Certified in Ophthalmology, and 3) Have full, unrestricted medical license in any State.
