I suppose if you're reading this, you might be curious about what's up in AK, or things might not be so great with other prospects or your current practice situation?
Regardless, thanks for clicking...
We have a unique opportunity (we all say that) for phased-in ownership of a beautiful, fun, lucrative and productive eye center in an exciting part of the world.
We are very fortunate to have pulled up from the corona nose-dive to resume full volume surgical, medical, optometric and optical excellence.
We need a highly skilled, motivated, and genuinely friendly surgeon to launch a fantastic career with us, in our gorgeous, state-of-the-art, free-standing, 24,000 sf eye center with full optometric, optical, technical, IT, billing and administrative/HR support.
Plan on starting with 500 cataracts per year in a sexy new multispecialty ASC (which you should buy into). I'll do the other 500 cats annually...and help you ramp up.
Work with every conceivable type of patient, injury, and medical/surgical eye disease, in collaboration with me and our three fabulous, eminently capable ODs.
This is not the healthcare boonies. We currently offer Symfony/PanOptix/toric IOLs, iTrack canaloplasty, iStents, Hydrus, SLTs, PIs, blephs, and endless office adventures. Our OD's are experts with contact lenses (including complex scleral fits) and can handle all the kids, post-ops, and non-surgical stuff with excellence.
We are ridiculously spoiled, with every useful diagnostic/treatment/software gadget, and a GT racing car simulator that I haven't used all year because I'm gloriously overworked (that's where you come in)! Our technicians, scribes, and opticians are the best there is and make the docs' workday buttery smooth. Our expert full-time IT, HR, and billing crew will keep your productivity maximized. I've been told to tone down the rhetoric about the staff "taking a wolverine claw to the face" to help a doc get home on time...sorry.
You will earn handsomely (especially when I'm out of the way...see below), with every benefit there is. Prepare to be amazed!
We're looking for a long-term partnership relationship, with all the responsibilities that requires (yes, Thurston, there will be on-call duties...and meetings), but the rewards are priceless. I want to work for 15 more years, and turn the helm over to you within 10 years, so this isn't the place for a short or long term employed (non-owner) associate. Instead, we want you to be an owner, and share in the work and our success.
Wolf Eye Center is located in suburban Wasilla, in the Mat-Su Valley of southcentral Alaska. It's a spectacular setting of natural beauty with endless outdoor recreation possibilities, excellent schools, small town charm, actual cultural events, minimal traffic, no commuting, paltry sales tax, and no state income tax…also, ask me about the wicked-fast fire department! We also have two very efficient drive through Covid testing facilities.
And there's tons of slimy things in the waterways, and cute furry stuff to shoot at. And then gut, eat, and taxidermize. I don't get it...so nasty.
Please visit www.alaskavisit.com for an intro to our area. It's mostly true! And again, this isn't the edge of the earth. I'm from New Jersey, and I believe we've got pretty much every urban/suburban amenity here. Except mangos! Please bring some to your interview for double bonus points.
I really look forward to discussing this position with you. Please email your situation to me (firstname.lastname@example.org) or call the cell (907-232-8046...remember AK is 1 hour earlier than Pacific time).
We are a medical, surgical, and optical practice serving a relatively ornery population of 100k.
Our mission is to improve people's lives by maximizing their health and vision, with compassion and excellence.
